The Grand Junction Police Department has received several recent reports of an individual or individuals using counterfeit currency at local businesses.
Multiple downtown businesses reported that a female attempted to pay for merchandise with a counterfeit $100 bill. In two of the incidents, the transactions were successful.
The female is described as a Black woman, medium build, approximately 20–25 years old. In one incident, she was accompanied by a white male with a small to medium build, dark hair, and also approximately 20–25 years old.
Business owners and employees are encouraged to remain vigilant, closely examine large bills, and report any suspected counterfeit currency to law enforcement immediately.
