The Grand Junction Police Department, Grand Junction Fire Department, and Mesa County Sheriff’s Department Wildland Fire Team responded to a report of a fire off of Riverside Parkway in the 2500 block on 2/29/2024 at approximately 3:00 p.m. GJFD firefighters and the Mesa County Fire Team were able to put out the fire by deploying a float pump and using river water to extinguish the fire. GJPD officers investigated and spoke to a male victim nearby and took one female into custody. Investigation into this case is ongoing and no further information is available at this time.
