On July 23, 2025, at approximately 2:00 p.m., officers with the Grand Junction Police Department responded to a report of felony menacing in the area of Lakeside Drive and Lakeside Way.
Dispatchers with the Grand Junction Regional Communication Center received information about an intoxicated male swinging a knife and yelling at construction workers in the area. The male reportedly attempted to stab one of the workers.
When officers arrived on scene, they located the suspect, who was still armed with the knife. The suspect remained uncooperative and noncompliant with officer commands, prompting the deployment of a taser.
The suspect, Lane Davis (age 39), was arrested and booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on charges of Felony Menacing, Obstruction, Child Abuse, and other related offenses.
No injuries were reported in the incident, and there is no further threat to the public. The investigation remains ongoing, and no additional information is available at this time.
