GJPD Seeking Volunteers for Victim Services – Apply Now for the Fall Academy!

The Grand Junction Police Department is pleased to announce that applications are now open for volunteer positions within the department’s Victim Services Unit. Community members with a desire to make a positive impact are encouraged to apply for the Fall 2025 Victim Services Academy, which begins August 11.

Grand Junction Police Department Victim Services volunteers provide critical support, information, and resources to individuals and families affected by crime. This team of volunteers is available every hour, 365 days a year, responding to assist victims at scenes or during ongoing investigations. In addition, volunteers offer support in cases involving domestic violence, sex assault, unattended deaths, and other traumatic incidents.

“The GJPD Victim Services volunteers play a vital role in helping individuals navigate some of the most difficult times in their lives,” said Megan Weaver, GJPD Victim Services Coordinator. “We’re looking for dedicated and compassionate community members to join our team.”

Fall 2025 Academy Details:

  • Dates: August 11 – August 27, 2025
  • Schedule: Monday and Wednesday evenings, plus an all-day Saturday session on August 16
  • Deadline to Apply: July 11, 2025

Volunteers must be at least 21 years old and pass a background check. Bilingual applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.
