Officers with the Grand Junction Police Department responded to a two-vehicle crash in the area of D Rd and 31 Rd on 01/21/24, at approximately 11:45 p.m. A truck rear-ended a passenger car, causing significant damage. A passenger of the car was extricated by emergency personnel and transported to the hospital with serious bodily injury. There were no other injuries. The driver of the truck, Antonio Ruiz-Garcia (age 25), was arrested and transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:
- DUI
- DUI per se
- Vehicular Assault
- Reckless Driving
- Owner Required to have Motor Vehicle Insurance
- Drove Vehicle Without Valid Driver’s License
