The Grand Junction Police Department has made an arrest in the arson which occurred on the 1000 block of Grand Avenue on 12/08/23, at approximately 9:50 p.m. After thorough investigation, detectives with the Grand Junction Police Department identified the suspect in this incident as Kyle Hayes, age 30. Hayes was located by officers in the 2800 block of North Avenue on 12/13/23, at approximately 2:40 p.m. Hayes was arrested without incident and remanded to the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:
- Criminal Mischief > $1 Million, F2
- 2nd Degree Burglary (10 counts), F3
- 1st Degree Arson (2 counts), F4
- Tampering with Physical Evidence, M1
- Criminal Possession of a Financial Device, M2
- Reckless Endangerment, M2
