At 12:25 PM Grand Junction Fire Department was dispatched to a Quonset hut on fire on the 2900 block of Ronda Lee Road. The 9-1-1 caller said black smoke was coming from the structure that was believed to be unoccupied. Flames spread from the building and threatened a nearby power pole. One person was evaluated on scene for smoke inhalation but not transported for medical attention. There are no other known injuries. The origin and cause of the fire are under investigation.
GJFD responded with Ambulance 1, Ambulance 4, Engine 2, Engine 3, Engine 4, Engine 5, Truck 1, Medic 1, and a Battalion Chief. Grand Valley Power responded to evaluate the power pole. Mesa County Sherriff’s Office responded to assist with scene safety.
