New Businesses
New businesses and existing businesses which have moved, undergone a change of ownership, or other significant change (e.g. process change) are evaluated. Businesses must complete an Industrial Pretreatment Survey Form (PDF). All forms and applications must be entirely completed and returned with an original wet signature. Digital and electronic signatures will not be accepted per U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations. The survey is used to identify and locate all possible businesses that may have additional pretreatment requirements.
Information Collected
The survey is used to identify and locate all possible businesses that may have additional pretreatment requirements. The information collected is used to identify and control discharges to the sanitary sewer which might:
- Interfere with wastewater treatment plant operations
- Endanger the health or safety of wastewater collection system workers
- Pass through the treatment process to harm human health and/or the environment
Additional information or applications may be required. An inspection may be conducted to verify the information provided within the survey.
Industrial Pretreatment Discharge Permit Application
Should the wastewater be designated as having a significant impact, the business must apply for an Industrial Pretreatment Discharge Permit Application (PDF) and receive a permit from the Industrial Pretreatment Program prior to discharging to the sanitary sewer. All forms and applications must be entirely completed and returned with an original wet signature. Digital and electronic signatures will not be accepted per EPA regulations.
