Plant Operations

Every day, the City of Grand Junction produces over 8 million gallons of wastewater which runs through the Persigo Wastewater Treatment Plant. The treatment process is managed by a team of eight operators who treat the wastewater through physical, chemical, and biological processes to create fresh, clean, drinkable water that is safe to introduce back into the Colorado River. The process takes approximately 14 hours from when the wastewater is introduced to when it is put back into the Colorado River and the levels of each stage in the process are monitored closely by our operations team to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.

If you are interested in being part of our operations team, please visit the City of Grand Junction's Employment page to see if there are any open positions available.

If you would like to take a tour to see first-hand how the Persigo plant operations team is able to accomplish all of this, please visit our Tours page for information.
