El Espino, El Salvador - Sister City of Grand JunctionaRT - Art on the Riverfront Trail

aRT is designed to transform bleak underpasses along the Riverfront Trail into vibrant, colorful artistic expressions that enhance the trail users' experience. aRT is a fluid process with murals changing, bringing new and fresh designs to the Riverfront Trail. Through aRT, we will expand our rich artistic community and provide spaces to nurture budding artists by creating a more vibrant environment.

aRT is spearheaded by the Grand Junction Commission on Arts and Culture and the Riverfront Commission with a valley-wide coalition of partners including: the Grand Junction Police Department, Colorado Department of Transportation, Mesa County Sheriff's Office, Mesa County Health Department, Super Rad Art Jam, Urban Trails Committee, Mesa County, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, and the City of Grand Junction Public Works, Planning, and Parks Departments.

Guidelines

All murals facing the Riverfront Trail are vetted through committee. These are not open walls for artists to paint on. 

Artists may submit applications during open calls.

Back walls not facing the Riverfront Trail are open for painting.

Help us to keep this area vibrant by reporting anyone who is not following these guidelines.

Skate Park Mural Program

The Skate Park Mural program is spearheaded by the City of Grand Junction and the local skate community.  The Skate Park Mural program was designed to transform the skate parks into vibrant, colorful artistic spaces that enhance the skate park and offer a more inclusive environment.  These murals are a fluid process with murals changing annually, bringing new and fresh designs to the skate park.

Car Park aRT - Art on the Downtown Parking Garage 

Car Park aRT brings color and vibrancy to the south facing concrete wall. Pedestrians will enjoy the murals as they access the breezeway between the parking garage and Main Street.

City owned traffic signal boxes, or TSB's, are transformed into beautiful works of art. Artists may submit an application when there is an open call.
