Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest on Multiple Charges

Grand Junction, CO - On October 18, 2025, at approximately 12:45 a.m., officers with the Grand Junction Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the area of D ½ Road and 29 Road.

During the investigation, officers observed suspected drug paraphernalia and a large knife in the vehicle. Further investigation revealed multiple check books not belonging to the suspect and burglary tools.

The suspect, identified as 20-year-old Luis Aceves-Mancilla, was arrested and transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:

  • Criminal Possession of an Identification Document- Two or More
  • Criminal Possession of Four or More Financial Devices
  • Possession of Burglary Tools
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Possession of Schedule I/II Controlled Substance
  • Theft $2,000-$5,000
  • Theft of License Plate
  • No Insurance in Possession
  • Operated/Permitted Use of Unregistered Vehicle
  • Vehicle Had No Plate Attached
  • Vehicle with Defective Headlamps
  • Driving with Revoked License-Aggravated
