GRAND JUNCTION, CO – At approximately 5:39 p.m., the Grand Junction Fire Department responded to reports of a garage on fire on the 2000 block of Overlook Drive.
The resident of the home called 9-1-1 to report a fire in the attached garage of the residence. The caller was attempting to evacuate the house and indicated that there were no injuries. Firefighters accessed the home after navigating the narrow streets in the neighborhood and established a water supply from a nearby hydrant. Crews extinguished the fire in the garage and worked to ensure that the fire had not spread to the home. The garage suffered significant damage, and there was light smoke damage throughout the house. No injuries were reported.
The origin and cause of the fire are under investigation. The Grand Junction Police Department assisted with traffic control and scene safety.
