[ARCHIVED] Update: Orchard Mesa Pool Failed Boiler

Orchard Mesa Pool

June 13 Update: After an extended waiting period, the City of Grand Junction has received the replacement boiler for the Orchard Mesa pool, and crews are working to get it installed. This marks a major milestone toward reopening the pool and restoring full service to the public. While an official reopening date has not yet been set, staff anticipate having a clearer timeline by next week. Updates will be provided as work progresses.

April 9 Update: City staff have purchased a boiler unit to replace the failed boiler at the Orchard Mesa Pool. This unit will have a lead time in shipping and installation. The pool is expected to reopen by the end of May.

March 31 Update: The solar heating unit is unable to keep temperatures warm enough for swimmer use. The pool will remain closed while staff identify the procurement of a new boiler.

The Orchard Mesa Pool experienced colder-than-normal water temperatures due to a failed boiler. Despite several repair attempts over the past few days, the boiler has been deemed unrepairable. The City is actively working to procure and install a new boiler as quickly as possible.
