The City of Grand Junction has been under contract to purchase the 2851 North Avenue for the purpose of expanding overnight shelter and services for those experiencing homelessness or are housing insecure. Through and as a result of the extensive due diligence conducted on the property, the city has terminated the real estate purchase contract.
The City is continuing to explore alternatives to support the needs of the city’s unhoused residents. The City will be working closely with the City Council, as well as with local nonprofits and other community stakeholders to determine how to appropriately support those most vulnerable in our community as the lease for the Resource Center located at 261 Ute Avenue will conclude on April 15.
