The City of Grand Junction’s printed 2024 Annual Report and Calendar began arriving in the mailboxes of city residents last week and is also available for pick up at city offices. This popular calendar contains beautiful photos of the natural beauty of the Grand Junction area while also serving as the city’s annual report. The calendar includes a letter from Mayor Stout, a review of the city’s 2023 projects and accomplishments, a directory of city services, financial information, a list of Boards and Commissions and their meeting dates as well as dates for City Council meetings, national and state holidays, trash and recycle pick up delays, and holiday closures for city offices.
“Each year we receive calls starting in the fall from city residents asking when this highly-anticipated calendar will be available,” stated Mayor Anna Stout. “Not only do we get to appreciate the work of local photographers year ‘round, but the City calendar serves as an important source of information regarding our accomplishments, ways to participate in our municipal government, holiday closures, and contacts for city services.”
“Once again, regional photographers outdid themselves with their submissions of amazing panoramas of the beauty that is Grand Junction's backyard. We are so grateful for their generosity and how skillfully they have captured the scenes presented each month of the year,” Stout continued.
The calendar is printed and distributed each year to households throughout the city. The submitted photographs undergo a rigorous selection process with the Arts and Culture Commission making the final determination on which pictures to include in the calendar. More than 500 photographs were submitted and 15 were selected to appear in calendar.
More than 50,000 copies of the calendar are mailed to city residents and copies are also available to be picked up at City Hall 250 N. 5th St., at the Utilities Office at 910 Main St., the GJ Police and Fire Departments at 555 or 625 Ute Avenue, the Parks and Recreation office at 1340 Gunnison Ave., and the Visitors Center at 740 Horizon Drive.
