City of Grand Junction Installs Commissioned Art at Westlake Park
The City of Grand Junction will temporarily close Westlake Park located at 125 W Orchard Avenue, on weekdays from Monday, October 16 through Friday, November 17, 2023, for the installation of commissioned art murals.
During the closure, artists chosen by the Grand Junction Commission on Arts and Culture will be working to transform the park’s prominent wall into a vibrant and meaningful work of art that reflects the spirit and landscape of Grand Junction. Multiple mural projects at Westlake and Eagle Rim Parks continue to brighten those spaces and create an inviting and beautiful environment for park visitors.
Access to the park will remain available on the weekends. While Westlake Park is closed, residents can use the Eagle Rim Skate Park or enjoy the many other parks Grand Junction offers. The Westlake Park closure is part of the Skate Park Mural Program, a community art initiative that enhances Grand Junction’s Art and Culture landscape.
