On October 4, 2025, at approximately 2:20 p.m., officers with the Grand Junction Police Department responded to a single-vehicle rollover crash near 24 Road and G Road.
Through the course of the investigation, officers learned the driver had been traveling northbound on 24 Road when he crossed the median and struck a boulder. The driver fled the scene on foot but was contacted by law enforcement a short distance away.
The driver, identified as 48-year-old Anthony Martinez, was arrested and transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility, where he was booked on the following charges:
- DUI- 3 or More Prior Convictions
- Aggravated Driving with Revoked License-Habitual Offender
- Tampering with Physical Evidence
- Operated Unregistered Motor Vehicle on Public Roadway (Not Owner)
- Careless Driving
- Failed to Notify Police of Accident
- (Operated) Unregistered Vehicle
