The City of Grand Junction is celebrating Arbor Day by offering free tree seedlings for home delivery. Beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2025, Grand Junction residents can request two seedlings to be delivered to their home addresses by Forestry Board members and Master Gardener volunteers. Residents can select two seedlings through the online request form. Seedlings will be delivered to City residents starting Tuesday, April 22, 2025.
Residents can select the type of tree seedling they prefer through the request form. Available tree species are limited, and requests are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. This program is only available to residents within Grand Junction city limits.
The annual Arbor Day celebration will take place during the Southwest Arbor Fest, starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2025, in Lincoln Park. While supplies last, seedlings will also be available that day at the entrance to the Lincoln Park pool.
