The City of Grand Junction hosts a variety of family-friendly holiday activities for Grand Junction area residents.
The annual Senior Holiday Light Tour and Chocolate Walk both sold out with the largest registration for these events. The beloved Candy Cane Hunt will return on Saturday, December 14 with crafts, cookies, and hot cocoa. The event will begin at 10 a.m. at Lincoln Park Barn and is free to the public.
Additionally, Grand Junction Parks and Recreation and the Kiwanis Club are teaming up for the Santa Cause Run on Saturday, December 7 to help raise money for inclusive playground equipment. The registration deadline for the Santa Cause Run is Wednesday, December 4, 5 p.m. Entries received by the deadline will guarantee a race T-shirt or Santa Suit. The same day race registration will be accepted. The Santa Cause 5K run will start at 10:15 a.m. at the Amphitheater at Las Colonias. A 1K option for kids 11 years and under will start at 10 a.m. 5K runners can add to the fun by registering for divisions such at Mr. and Mrs. Claus, Santa and His Little Helper, and Grinch and Max.
