On 8/28/24, at approximately 6:10 a.m., 911 dispatchers with the Grand Junction Regional Communications Center received a report of a stabbing which occurred in the area of Science Park located near Santa Clara Avenue and Lamp Lite Road. Officers arrived in the area to find the victim, an adult female, with an apparent stab wound. The victim was transported to the hospital by the Grand Junction Fire Department where she remains for further treatment. The suspect fled the scene and was later identified as Ashley Nicoson, 26. A warrant has been issued for her arrest on the following charges:
- 1st Degree Assault with a Deadly Weapon
- Felony Menacing
- Tampering with Evidence
