The city will launch a study of 7th Street to develop recommendations to make it a connected low-stress active transportation corridor from the Riverfront Trail to Horizon Drive.
A Steering Committee is being established to assist in defining the study goals in the context of Pedestrian Bike Plan recommended facilities; identify high-risk locations; review the approach of and information received during public outreach; determine preferred alternatives; and support the development of recommendations.
The Steering Committee will include 11-17 individuals and representatives of organizations with specific interests along the 7th Street corridor, representing a diverse cross-section of the community, ranging in age, occupation, life experience, and interest. Ideally, the Steering Committee will include transportation planners and engineers; adjacent businesses and larger institutions; private property owners; and those who travel or have a desire to travel along the corridor The Steering Committee is proposed to meet at least three times over the course of the study. Applications are now closed.
