City Manager Greg Caton selected Sandoval after an application and interview process was conducted.

Sandoval assisted the current City Clerk with Grand Junction’s municipal election in 2022 as well as the Cannabis retail business licensing and selection process in 2023. On a regular basis, she coordinates the timely preparation and posting of agendas and packets for city council meetings and ensures proper execution of resolutions, ordinances, minutes, and related materials. She facilitates virtual access to City Council meetings and oversees accessibility of reports, documents, and online videos of public meetings. She also performs licensing duties including processing new licenses and renewals, modifications, and transfers as well as the coordination of Liquor Licensing Authority meetings.

Sandoval has served as the Deputy Clerk for the city since 2018 and prior to that worked in the City Clerk’s office in an administrative capacity. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Business Administration degree from Colorado Mesa University. Sandoval is a Certified Municipal Clerk and is currently working towards her Master Municipal Clerk designation.

Sandoval is also a dedicated community volunteer and serves as the coordinator for the Public Food Pantry for Junction Community Church and is the co-ambassador for the city’s United Way campaign. Sandoval is an avid outdoor enthusiast and has climbed 33 of the 14,000 ft. peaks in Colorado and has assisted 23 people in accomplishing their first summit of a 14er. She founded Sole Squad to encourage others to get outside and hike.

A Colorado native fluent in Spanish, Sandoval and her husband Ruben have two grown children who live and study in Golden, Colorado.
